Taking A Break This Advent

Boy, is the pace of activity intense this time of the year! Now intensity is unavoidable, especially the closer you come to Christmas. But constant, uninterupted activity can be costly.

I was reminded of the importance of addressing the intensity of life, a while back, through an interesting article entitled: "Everything I Needed To Know About Life, I Learned From A Jugsaw Puzzle!" Not sure of the origins of this article, but it helps to address the theme of intensity, giving helpful clues for 'dialing it back.'

Listen.

“Establish the Border First – Boundaries Give Security and Order.”

“Don’t Force A Fit -- If Something is Meant To Be, It Comes Together Naturally.”

“Refer to the Picture on the Box -- The ‘Puzzle Creator’ Really Does Want to Help!”

“Don’t Be Afraid Of New Combinations -- Some Matches Aren’t Obvious!”

“When Things Aren’t Going Well, Take A Break --Everything Will Look Different When You Return.”

That last word, is especially helpful, especially during this Advent season. 'Take a break -- everything will look different when you return.' And it will!  For God joins us, in our break.

And so take a break this Advent.

And while your at it, consider other lessons from the jigsaw puzzle.  For God comes in Christ, to remind us that our greatest activity, is activity found in 'another way of living' -- found in Jesus.  The activity of the Kingdom of God!
