The flow of God is an unstoppable flow, pushing through ‘any and all’ sentiment, blockage or debris. Thus, ultimately we cannot fail, if we harness the current of our mighty Maker!
I’m convinced, the reason a lot of us are not
more bold, is because we are convinced we might fail. And so two
popular words, are these words: ‘what
if?’ Yes, I want to give more – but ‘what
if’ the economy crashes? Yes, I want to
witness more – but ‘what if’ my friend rejects me? Yes, I want to help dive deeper into the truth of God, conforming more to the character of God – but ‘what if’ God is ‘a fairy tale’ after all. ‘What if?’- ‘What if?’- ‘What
if?’
Well such sentiment is understandable.
But I’d like to make a bold proposal; in spite of such emotion, let’s
chuck ‘What if’ – and replace it, with two new words -- ‘What-ever!!’ ‘What-ever’ the call – ‘What-ever’ the
challenge – ‘What-ever’ the contest – we will follow the Lord!
In Acts 5, Gamaliel, the most famous
Jewish teacher of his time, makes an amazing proposal. In spite of the Sanhedrin's (the Jewish leadership cadre) fear that Peter and the other apostles will outmaneuver them (thus, attaining more influence and power) Gamaliel encourages the Sanhedrin to set Peter and the other
apostles free. “Let them go! – Gamaliel
declares. “For if their…activity is of
human origin it will fail. But if it is
from God, you [won’t] be able to stop
these men [anyhow]…”!! (Acts
5:38-39).
Our activity is from God. For we the people of God – we are the church! And so nothing can stop us; ultimately we
cannot fail!
Sure we’ll make mistakes;
sure we’ll stumble; sure we’ll fall. But
ultimately we cannot fail. For God’s
flow is an unstoppable flow, pushing through ‘any and all’ sentiment, ‘any
and all’ blockage – ‘any and all’ debris.

But even more unbelievable is the
power of God’s flow, God’s spirit, God’s people! Why it can far exceed the speed of any sound,
any sight – ‘taking over’ life on earth in radical ways.
Let God’s flow take over in radical
ways! Exchange ‘what if’
– for – ‘what-ever’! moving...harnessing -- indeed -- the energy and current of our mighty Maker!
